Lovel B. Ozmar, Jr. “Tillie” of Petersburg, VA, departed this life Friday, May 6, 2016 at Brighter Living Assisted Living, under the care of Crater Community Hospice. He was born June 1, 1929 in Petersburg, VA to the late Lovel B. Ozmar, Sr. and Mary Alease (Rowlett) Ozmar. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dreama Geraldine (Perkey) Ozmar. He is survived by two brothers, James R. Ozmar (Margaret) and Morris R. Ozmar; two sons, Lovel B. “Butch” Ozmar, III (Susan) and CPT (Ret) Gregory P. Ozmar (Linda); four grandchildren, Morris Ozmar, Amber Dickens, Christopher Ozmar (fiancé, Kristie Clay), and Kristin Milton; a great-grandson, Drew Dickens. Mr. Ozmar was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve and the Virginia National Guard, culminating as Sergeant First Class. He was employed by the Petersburg & Hopewell Gas Company (now Columbia Gas) retiring after 44 years of service to the tri-cities area. He was a lifelong member of Matoaca Baptist Church. The family will friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, located at 103 S. Adams Street. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Southlawn Memorial Park in Prince George, VA.
