Lucille Garrett

Lucille Virginia Garrett, 73, of Petersburg, widow of Thomas Andrew Garrett, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 in Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Dinwiddie County and was the daughter of the late David Lunsford and Mary Reeves Hawkins. She was a retired supervisor with Imperial Reading and was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church. She is survived by five sisters, Jean Reeves of Kenbridge, Alice Hawkins of Petersburg, Martha Gooch of McKenney, Frances Reames of Dinwiddie and Rose McCaffity of McKenney; two brothers, Clarence Hawkins of DeWitt and Mac Hawkins of Dinwiddie; six step-children, Curtis Garrett of Chesterfield, Roy Garrett of Richmond, Evelyn Carter of Colonial Heights, Brenda Newcomb of Chesterfield, Linda Chestnut of Midlothian and Mary Garrett of Caroline County. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Donald R. Joyner, pastor of Matoaca Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
