Lucretia O. Litchfield, 98 of Petersburg, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Southside Regional Medical Center. She was the widow of Landis H. Litchfield to whom she was married for 55 years. She was a teacher for 20 years in Petersburg School System, Past President Federated Womenâ??s Club, Past Flotilla Commander U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 32, Original Charter member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 52 years, one of the first women deacons and served in several other administrative positions. She is survived by two sons, Richard Lee Litchfield and wife, Alice, of Prince George; Rev. Dr. Hugh Litchfield and wife, Sarah, of Palmyra; sister-in-law, Ruth Litchfield of VA Beach; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 am Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Walnut Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park.
