Lucy Critcher Holloman

July 3, 1929 — August 21, 2013

Lucy Critcher Holloman, 84, of Petersburg, widow of William Cordell Holloman, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013. Born in Oxford, NC, she was the daughter of the late Arthur B. and Addie Bell Clark Critcher. She was a faithful member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church for 46 years and served as a Deacon of the church. She was a current member of Second Baptist Church and active with the Petersburg Baptist Association. Mrs. Holloman is survived by her daughters, Lucy Dianne Holloman, Hilda A. Holloman, and Betsy H. Puryear and husband, Thomas A. Puryear, Jr. all of Prince George; grandchildren, Matthew S. Kilbourne and wife, Kelly R. Kilbourne of Colonial Heights, Alison Kilbourne and husband, Blake Smith of Washington D.C., Nathan A. Puryear and Daniel R. Puryear both of Prince George; sister-in-law, Betsy Critcher of Youngsville, NC and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Nathan Solomon at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 24th at Second Baptist Church followed by interment at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Baptist Church, 3355 Johnson Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
