Lula Whiteheart Kaleyta

Lula Whiteheart Kaleyta, 90, of Disputanta, VA, passed away on December 22, 2021. Born in Petersburg, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Whiteheart and Blanche Fitzgerald Whiteheart. Preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kaleyta; and sisters, Catherine Hitchcock (Durwood), and Mildred Reese.
She is survived by her daughters and their families to include 13 grandchildren: daughter, Kathy Klimek (David) and grandchildren, Ryan Klimek and Mark Klimek; daughter, Terri Stephenson (Richard) and grandchildren, Jason Koren, Matthew Koren, Jeri Cox, and Paul Koren; daughter, Connie Gladin (Greg) and grandchildren, Jamie Powers, Steven Gladin, and Thomas Gladin; daughter, Jacqueline Lane (Lee) and grandchildren, Taylor Lane, Daniel Lane, David Lane, and Michael Lane; 30 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Martha K. Ailstock; and several nieces and nephews.
Lula Kaleyta was employed with Fort Lee, retiring after 40 years in civil service. She was a 60-year active member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Petersburg. She especially enjoyed helping with the soup kitchen at church. She loved painting, fishing, traveling to the beach, and anything social. Most of all, she loved her family and she will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 1769 S Sycamore St. Petersburg, VA 23805. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
