Lula Beckner Ziegenfuss

Lula "Lu" Ziegenfuss, 97, of Petersburg, VA passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022. Born on January 6, 1925 in Princeton, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late, Joseph and Pansy Beckner; and was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. Ziegenfuss, Sr.; one son, John E. Ziegenfuss, Jr.; and eleven brothers and sisters. She retired as a long time broker and real estate agent for Bowers, Nelms and Fonville. Lu is survived by her two daughters, Margaret Z. Terrell (J.T.) and Betty Z. McDaniel; two sons, Robert P. Ziegenfuss (Connie) and Jeffrey E. Ziegenfuss; her brother, Ray Beckner; fourteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Lu's family would like to thank the caring staff at Dunlop House Assisted Living, where she resided for the past five years, and to Crater Community Hospice whose care she was under the past year. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
