Luther Carroll Jernigan

Luther Carroll Jernigan, 87, of Petersburg, VA passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Born in Petersburg, VA, he was the son of the late Luther W. and Rebbie Luter Jernigan; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann B. Jernigan; and his six siblings. Luther was an avid NASCAR fan and was also a fan of the Washington Redskins. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie and will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his four children, Tracy Lowery (Fred), Mark Jernigan (Stacy), Ronda Loving (Johnny), and Wendy Orton (Billy Joe); eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and three more on they way; many beloved nieces and nephews; and cherished friends, Pookie, Bubba, and MaryLou. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 12715 Acron Dr., North Dinwiddie, VA 23805.
