Lynn Lee Moss

Lynn Lee Moss passed away Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at his home in Chester, VA, surrounded by his family. He was 63 years old. He was a loving son, husband, devoted father, Opa to his grandchildren, veteran and cherished coach. He fought a long battle with heart failure.

Lynn was born on April 11th, 1961, in Richmond, VA.

He was so devoted to serving his country that he enlisted in the Army at the young age of 17. He successfully completed boot camp in Fort Knox, Kentucky, before returning to Hermitage High School to finish his senior year in the class of 1979.

His first place of entry into active duty was in Katterbach, Germany. His last duty assignment was in Fort Polk, Louisiana. Throughout his years of service he was stationed in Germany, Texas, Louisiana, and Panama. He started his career with 1st BN 37th armor and finished his career with 1/70 armor. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on May 29th, 1992 as an E5 sergeant.

He married the love of his life, Sabine Moss, on May 26th, 1983. They were together for 41 years.

Lynn was a highly respected coach throughout his many years coaching/reffing both baseball and football; he was involved for over 30 years. He was heavily involved with Chesterfield Little League, Chester Rebels, Chester Bengals, Central Chesterfield Little League, and Thomas Dale High School. Even now, everywhere we go, we meet someone who knew Coach Moss.

He worked for The Restaurant Company for over 30 years as a construction maintenance supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Sabine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Jennifer Moss, Michael and Christina Moss; four grandchildren, Addison, Abigail, Olivia, and Marshall; and his mother Katherine.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
