Mabel Inez Caudle Hamner

Mabel Inez Caudle Hamner, a longtime resident of Petersburg and widow of Gerald R. Hamner, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie C. and Lois Owen Caudle; brothers, W.A. Caudle (Hilda) and James Caudle; sisters, Yvonne C. Watterson (Rev. Gene) and Evelyn Inge Skinner (Charles); brother-in-law, Joseph B. Miller, Jr. Mrs. Hamner was a longtime member of Elm Street Baptist Church until the church closed, and attended First Baptist Church since that time. She retired after 39 years of service with C & P Telephone Company where she worked as a training supervisor, traveling the State of Virginia introducing new programs that were required by telephone operators at that time. She is survived by her sister, Jeanette C. Miller; sister-in-law, Dorothy H. Caudle, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nephews.
