Mabel Jackson

Mabel Stanton Jackson, 95 of Petersburg, died April 6, 2006. She was the widow of Ivan U. Jackson. Born in McKenney, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Harry Lamar and Lily May Adams Stanton and was preceded in death by her brother William Lamar Stanton and son-in-law Johnny Oates. Mabel was a member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church and attended West End Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Propst and husband, Paul, and Gloria Oates; five grandchildren, Michael Propst, Nancy Propst, Lori Everhart and husband John, Andrew Oates and wife Susannah, Jennifer Riggs and husband Robbie; five great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Whitehurst, and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday, April 10, 2006 at Blandford Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
