Mack Lester Atkinson Jr.

Mack Lester Atkinson, Jr., 73, of Sutherland, passed away Friday, February 01, 2013 at his residence. Born in Hopewell, he was the son of the late Mack Lester and Page Birdsong Atkinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Atkinson. Mack was a U. S. Navy veteran and a retired construction engineer for VDOT. He is survived by his daughter, Sharee Burn of Leesburg, VA; son, Michael Atkinson and wife, Frances of Dinwiddie; granddaughter, Tabatha Atkinson; brothers, Kenneth Atkinson, Donald Atkinson, and Tommy Atkinson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
