Macyl Ellison Yates, 83, of Hopewell died Monday, November 13, 2006 in John Randolph Medical Center. She was born in Widen, West Virginia and had been a long time resident of Hopewell. Mrs. Yates was a member of First Baptist Church, a member of Rebekah Lodge #56, a member of Woodmen of the World #624, a volunteer at John Randolph Medical Center and Nursing Home and was a retired Bank Teller for the former State Planters Bank. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emory Walker & Myrtle Baxter Ellison, her husband Ralph Yates and a sister, Bertha Tuttle. Mrs. Yates is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Y. Daniels of Hopewell, one son Ralph Alan Yates of Marysville, WA, 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Yates, Jeremy Yates, both of Marysville, WA, Heather McRae of Edmonds, WA, Jeffrey Daniels of Colonial Heights, and Kelly Burrow of Hopewell, 3 Great Grandchildren, Madeline McRae of Edmonds, WA, Jack Burrow & Sadie Burrow, both of Hopewell, one sister, Pauline Anderson of Surry. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11:00 AM in Appomattox Cemetery with Bob Lane officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
