Madaline Davis Lewis, 92, of South Chesterfield, VA, passed away on April 21, 2016, at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Lloyd Davis and Julia Brooks Davis; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Lewis.
Mrs. Lewis retired after 29 years as a secretary for Federal Paper Board, Richmond, VA. She was a volunteer at Southside Regional Medical Center for 16 years. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church, Petersburg, until it closed and then Swift Creek Baptist Church, South Chesterfield.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Linda Lewis Parrish and husband, David of South Chesterfield; son, Frank C. Lewis and wife, Michal Ann of Bloomington, IN; four grandchildren, Damon A. Parrish of South Chesterfield, Daphne Parrish Taylor and husband, R.T. of Chester, Sanya Carley and husband, Joseph of Bloomington, IN, and Elijah Carleyolsen and wife, Elizabeth of Durham, NC, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Vera Davis Eastman of Chester, VA; a brother, T.L. Davis, Jr. and wife, Margaret of South Chesterfield, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Felker officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
