Madalon Virginia Marmol Lane, 62, of Hopewell, after a courageous battle with cancer, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Johnston Willis Medical Center in Richmond, VA. She was born in Hopewell and had been a life long resident. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Marmol, Jr. She was a volunteer at John Randolph Medical Center, a member of First Christian Church where she was active in the chancel choir and also sang with the local singing group known as â??Praisesâ?. Madalon was a retired hairdresser and owner of Total Woman Beauty Salon. She is survived by her husband, Robert Winfrey Lane of Hopewell, a daughter, Pennie Lane Taylor and her husband Brian, three grandchildren, twins, Wade Robert and Zane William Taylor, Nathan Lane Taylor, all of Spring Grove, VA, her mother, Avalon Butler Marmol and a sister, Annette M. Anderson and her husband Marvin, all of Hopewell, VA. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 5:00 PM in First Christian Church with Rev. John Falk, former pastor, assisted by Sally Good, pastor of Prospect Christian Church, Dinwiddie County, VA, officiating. A time of fellowship will follow this service. Interment will be private.
