Madelyn Ethel Cready (Reinheimer) (November 2, 1928 - September 16, 2016)
Madelyn Ethel Cready, 87, a Chester resident, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. Madelyn was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Madelyn is survived by her daughter, Janine Cready Evans; son, Shawn Edward Cready (Shari); her beloved grandchildren, Caitlin, Samantha, and Jillian Cready, Jamie, Jordan, and John Evans. She was predeceased by her parents, Phillip Jacob and Caroline Kimbrough Reinheimer, and sister, Virginia Reinheimer. Madelyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their school and sports functions. She also loved her work as a guide and Operations Coordinator at Hagley Museum in Wilmington, Delaware where she enjoyed meeting the many foreign guests who visited, and hosting interactive history programs with school children. Madelyn was a lifelong learner and expanded that proclivity into the digital age when, at age 60, she bought her first computer and learned to navigate cyberspace. She was a member of Chester Presbyterian Church.
