Madge Tucker Palmer

Madge Tucker Palmer, 99, of Floral City, FL. passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Born and raised in Guilford County, NC to the late Daniel Webb and Lillie Mae Smith Tucker. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Leon Lamar Palmer. Madge was a lifelong member of the Bahai faith and was a member of the local Spiritual Assembly, where she served as secretary for many years. She was also a member of the Citrus County Women’s Club and Interfaith Council of Citrus County. Madge graduated from Pleasant Garden High School in 1937 and was Valedictorian. In the 1930’s she sang opera on the radio and performed in public events. She is survived by her son, David L. Palmer; daughter, Susan P. Byrne and husband, Joel A. Byrne; granddaughter, Logan B. Buyalos and husband, Andrew Buyalos; grandson, Zachary Palmer and wife, Jenny Palmer; great-granddaughter, Morganne Palmer; great-grandson, Matthew Buyalos. The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving support and care provided by the Dunlop House staff. A graveside service will be held, 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831.
