Mae Elizabeth Crowder Baker, 87, a lifelong resident of Petersburg and widow of Victor Glenn Baker, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012. She was the daughter of the late William Oakes and Mary King Crowder and a longtime member of West End Baptist Church. In addition, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Darlene Baker; siblings, William Alpheus Crowder, Mildred Crowder Bowen, George Willard Crowder and Morris Beckwith Crowder. Mrs. Baker is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy S. Crowder of Colonial Heights and several nieces and nephews. The family would like thank the staff of The Crossings at Ironbridge, Magnolia of Chesterfield and Odyssey Hospice for their special care and support. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
