Margaret Edith (Blanks) Schulze, 88, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011. Margaret was born May 17, 1922 in Danville, VA., the daughter of the late George Edd and Ella Edith (Wicker) Blanks. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Earnest Charles Schulze, Jr.; siblings, Mable Mae Blanks, Helen Blanks Atkins Tinley, Lucille Blanks Mills, James Melvin Blanks, Willard J. Blanks. She was a longtime resident of Petersburg and Sutherland and a member of AARP at Fort Lee, Young At Heart of Colonial Heights. She graduated from George Washington High School in Danville, VA.., class of 1940. She was a former beauty queen and runner-up to Miss Danville and also a model for area stores and Dan River Mills. She was retired from Tri-City Radiology and the office of Dr. Milton Ende in Petersburg. She will be remembered for her gracious nature and generous spirit. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Worley and husband Jerry; son, Barry Schulze and wife Marie; grandchildren, Linn King and husband James, Karyn Foster and husband Chris, John Atwood and wife Jana; great-grandchildren, Cole, Brett and Tyson Foster, Payton and Reagan Atwood; two special nephews, Samuel E. (Tony) Atkins and Allen Wayne Atkins. Special thanks to all of her caregivers at the Dunlop House. The family will receive friends Monday, January 31, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.
