Margaret Dance

Margaret Ann Dance, 94, of Colonial Heights died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 in CA, where she was residing with her son. She was a native of Petersburg born the daughter of the late William J. and Anges W. Fisher. Mrs. Dance was a graduate of Petersburg High School, James Madison University (when it was know as â??Madison Collegeâ?) and went on to receive her graduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Dance was an educator in the Chesterfield County School system for over 40 years and was an active member of many organizations which include, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Confederacy, Honorary Teacherâ??s Sorority Delta Kappa Fidelis Beta Chapter, Colonial Heights Garden Club, Petersburg Historical Society, and Petersburg Area Art League. She is survived by her sons, Robert F. Dance of Petersburg, VA and William F. Dance of Toluca Lake, CA; daughter, Martha Ann Van Lear of Madison Heights, VA and her grandchildren, Scott Van Lear and his wife, Tina of Madison Heights, VA and Brett Van Lear of Waynesboro, VA. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service on Monday, May 4, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12 noon on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
