Margaret Garrison Hamlin, 90, formerly of Surry, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010 at her residence in The Hermitage Methodist Home in Richmond. Born on April 26, 1919 in Surry, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Maggie Bennett Garrison. She was the widow of Charles Thomas Hamlin, Jr. and a member of the Surry United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia H. Woody & her husband Art; a son Charles Thomas Hamlin III; a grandson, Charles Alan Woody & his wife Michelle and their two children Dillon and Noel and a granddaughter, Anna Woody. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Pleasants and a brother Robert Garrison.
A funeral service will be held at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com .
