Margaret Richards Knight, of Chester left her home on earth Wednesday, April 25, 2012 to join her beloved husband, Edward, in heaven. Mrs. Knight was born in Altavista Virginia on January 2, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Millard E. and Carrie L. Richards. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Robertson Richards, and her husband of 48 years, Edward Lee Knight, Jr. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward Lee Knight, III and Patti Jo Knight of Richmond, and daughter and son-in-law, Martha Ann Knight James and John Randolph James of Doswell. Mrs. Knight attended Mary Washington College. She worked as a secretary at Reynolds Metals for a number of years. She was an avid bridge player. She was a member of Chester Presbyterian Church and member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a member and past president of both the Womanâ??s Club of Chester and the Village Womanâ??s Club. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday April 28, 2012 at the Chester Presbyterian Church, 3424 West Hundred Rd. Chester VA 23831. Family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
