Margaret Williams Lewis

Margaret Williams Lewis, 95, of Dinwiddie, VA, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Robert Thweatt Williams and Myrtle Hudgins Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Lewis; and seven older siblings.
Margaret retired from the Dinwiddie County Treasurer's Office as Treasurer, and also worked for Dinwiddie County Schools as clerk of the School Board, and later secretary at the Bus Garage. Margaret volunteered in her free time at Southside Regional Medical Center, Red Cross Blood Drives, and at her church.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Susan L. Lee and husband, Ernie, of Nags Head, NC; her son, Robert C. Lewis, Jr. and wife, Becky, of Dinwiddie, VA; her grandsons, Robert C. Lewis III, Michael Allen Lewis and wife, Allison, and Barrett Scott Lee; great-granddaughter, Ivy Brook Lewis; and grand-dog, Scooby Doo.
The family would like to thank the staff of At Home Care Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Margaret over the past 25 months. Special thanks to Becky for the compassion, care, and love she showed Mom, to grandson Michael for his dedication, and to Barbara Jones for her devotion to her Aunt Margaret.
The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, and requests privacy during this mournful time. All services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dinwiddie Volunteer Rescue Squad, Station 1, 13516 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841 or Lebanon United Methodist Church, 12450 Courthouse Rd, Dinwiddie, VA 23841.
