Margaret Major Lewis

Margaret Major Lewis, 94, of Ford, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Major and Alice Gibbs; her stepfather, James H. Gibbs, Sr.; her husband, Thomas W. Lewis; her sister, Carrie L. Gibbs; and her brother, James H. Gibbs, Jr.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Carol Fisher; her grandsons, Todd Fisher and Jason Fisher (Ashley); her great-grandsons, Aiden Fisher, Greyson Fisher, and Grady Fisher; and her sister, Katherine Mayton.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Petersburg Home for Ladies for their love and care for Margaret over the last several years.

A graveside service will be held at Hawkins Presbyterian Cemetery, 7816 White Oak Road, Ford, VA 23850, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
