Margaret Podruchny

Margaret Elizabeth Henderson Podruchny, 95, of Hopewell, VA widow of Daniel Charles Podruchny, died May 6,2 006 at River View on the Appomattox Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Willis Kirk and Agnes May Hager Henderson. Margaret was also preceded in death by four sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory and two stepdaughters, Myrtle Quesenberry of Delaware and Helen McClay of California; a devoted niece and family of Chester, Kathleen, Craig and Pam Myers; a devoted nephew and family of Virginia Beach, Sank and Gloria Williams, and several other nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law She is also survived by seven devoted friends, Leonie Smith of Mount Dora, Florida; Pat Lindo of Chester, Thelma Blackwell of Dinwiddie, Susan Brooks of Chester, Prawnee Terry of Prince George and Verlina Alexander of Waverly, Michael Abraham of Mechanicsville, and Joe Branson of Utah, along with many other friends. Margaret was a member of the Petersburg Seventh Day Adventist Church. Margaret was a teacher for many years. She carried her ability and lover of teaching and mentoring long into her retirement years and was a blessing and inspiration to so many who were fortunate enough to have known her. She spent the last year of her life as a resident of River View on the Appomattox Nursing Home where she endeared herself to many and received compassionate and excellent care. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Graveside services will be held 10:30 am Friday, May 12, 2006 in Blandford Cemetery with the Pastor Austin Goodwin of Windsor, VA officiating.
