Margaret Louise Trail

Margaret L. Trail, 89, of Colonial Heights, VA., passed away, Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Cecil and Madge Craig Thompson; husband of 51 years, Farley Emery Trail, Sr. As well as having five children of her own, Margaret worked as an in-home childcare provider for years. She was much loved by her children, and she had the added joy of being instrumental in raising her seven grandchildren. Margaret enjoyed crafts, especially crochet and plastic canvas. There was always a baby blanket ready when she heard of an impending birth and many of her crafts were donated for fund raising purposes. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She was always kind to people and ready to invite them in for a cup of coffee. She enjoyed a life of happiness and faced even the tough times with laughter and optimism. She is survived by her children, Farley Emery Trail, Jr. and wife, Lynn, Mark E. Trail, Samuel F. Trail, H. Elizabeth Hurst and husband, David, John D. Trail and wife, Carol; grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Shane, Jonathan, Melissa, Margaret, and David; brother, Sonny Thompson and wife, Margaret; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. The family is very appreciative of the care and caring staff at her final home, Riverview on the Appomattox in Hopewell. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road Chester, VA., where a service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018, with Reverend Steve King, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
