Margaret Wolfrey Watkins

Margaret Wolfrey Vest Watkins, 98, of Petersburg, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017. Born in Petersburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Wolfrey and Katie Andrews Wolfrey-Turner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Melvin “Junie” Watkins; and daughters, Pat A. Martin and Brenda V. Robertson. Margaret was employed with Brown & Williamson retiring with over 35 years of service. She was the proud owner and operator of West End Beauty Shop in Petersburg. Margaret enjoyed being a homemaker but her favorite hobby was playing bingo. She loved everyone and was a true matriarch for the entire family. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jo Vest Reames (Gary); grandchildren, Sheryl Dean Conyers (Monty), Don Robertson (Cathy), Edward Martin, Sonya Lewis (Dr. John), and Craig Martin; great-grandchildren, Laci Wills (Allen), Douglas McLaughlin, Micah Robertson (Alex), Brittni McLaughlin, Ashton Lewis, and Chloe Martin; step-great-grandchildren, Debbie Conyers, Donna Conyers, and Ryan Conyers (Sarah); 7 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
