Margie Crowder Hawkins

Margie Crowder Hawkins, 88, of Dinwiddie County, widow of Robert Gordon Hawkins, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her residence. Born in McKenney, she was the daughter of the late Lucious Addison and Lillie Southall Crowder. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ray McClelland; brothers, George Crowder, Edgar Crowder, and Peter Crowder; sisters, Dora Tornbom and Mary Dickerson. Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her daughters, Katherine McClelland and Frances Lilley and husband, Otis; grandchildren, Robert McClelland and wife, Brandi, Mary Davis and husband, Jason, Jennifer Rowe and husband, Matt, and Jessica Lilley; great-grandchildren, Ava Davis, Lyla Davis, Megan McClelland, and Lily Rowe; and a devoted friend, Hattie Bonner. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff and caregivers of Crater Community Hospice for the care and support they provided. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury Memorial Cemetery, McKenney, VA.
