Margot Herta Quindt Parendo

October 1, 1930 — May 26, 2014

Margot Herta (Hetty) Quindt Parendo was born on October 1st, 1930 in Dessau, Germany. Her parents were Herta Weidemann and Hammond Quindt. She was one of four children. Her brother died in WWII. She also had 2 sisters, Anneliese (deceased) and Gertrud. She has numerous nieces and nephews in Alabama, New York, South Carolina and Germany. She met and married Michael Parendo (deceased) at the end of WWII, in Germany. Together the couple traveled the world, wherever the military sent them. Michael retired from the service and they resided in Petersburg, Virginia where they enjoyed many loving years together. Michael passed away 17 years ago. On May 26, 2014 after experiencing a stroke, Hetty joined her beloved Michael. She will be sorely missed by her family and most definitely by the many friends she has made in Petersburg, especially Virginia (Ginny) Bishop, Heather Wells McCay and JoMae Cole. These friends meant the world to her. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
