On the evening of December 19, 2006, at Southside Regional Medical Center, one of Godâ??s sweetest dearest angels went home to Jesus. Our beautiful mother, Marguerite Montrue Humphries Caudle (Dinky) entered into eternal peace and rest at 10:00 p.m., following a long period of declining health. Her departure has left many broken hearts. Marguerite was born on May 29, 1921 in Petersburg, Virginia. She resided at 7901 Boydton Plank Road, TR # 7, Petersburg, Virginia. She lived with her daughter, Madeline, her devoted caregiver, since her initial stroke in 1992. Mrs. Caudle was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Henry Elvin Caudle, Sr., two sons Baby Caudle and Henry Elvin Caudle, Jr. (Butch), two beloved grandchildren, Patrick Dwayne Minetree and Jennifer Louise Caudle. She was also predeceased by her father, John Wesley Humphries, Sr. and her mother Lucy Lillian Webster Humphries, two brothers, Linwood Humphries and John (Pete) Humphries. Survivors include three devoted children â?? Marguerite Rochelle Minetree (Bobby), Madeline Montrue Caudle, and Brian Dale Caudle (Patricia Goodwyn), nine grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a loving former daughter â??in â?? law, Sharon L. Deimel. Also surviving are two sisters, Lucy Humphries Barfield (Bubba) and Barbara (Jackie) Davis, one brother, John Wesley (J.W.) Humphries, Jr. (Rose), Foster brother Albert Grey (Doris), and a very dear sister â?? in - law, Sarah (Evelyn) Humphries. Also surviving are many devoted friends including Mildred Parham, Tina Morgan and Sonny Lester. Marguerite dearly loved her Lord, and was a member of West End Baptist Church for at least 55 years. She was a member of Titmus Bible Class. She was a member of Alpha Chapter Order of Eastern Star for about 39 years. She was also a long standing member and Past Most Excellent chief of The Pythian Sisters, Cockade city, Temple #6. Marguerite enjoyed playing the piano and singing before her illness, as well as league bowling. Her love and expertise of knitting and many kinds of handwork & sewing was well known. She was a knitting instructor prior to her illness. She also loved to draw and wrote the most beautiful poetry (â??Grandmother, I love youâ?). She always had a sincere and loving heart and the warmest smile for everyone she met. She was so well loved and so kind to all, and will be greatly missed. Heaven will surely rejoice at her coming home. We love you darling Mama â?? our sweet â??Doll Babyâ?. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
