Marian Harris

Marian Ryder Harris of McKenney, VA, left this earth peacefully Tuesday morning after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her loving husband of 47 years was by her side as she took the hand of her loving Lord. She was predeceased by her wonderful son-in-law, Bob Creech and has left to cherish and celebrate her life her husband, Jim Harris, daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Joe Foresta, daughter, Debbie Creech, sister and brother-in-law, Edith and David McAlpine, and sister-in-law, Jenny Nolan. She also leaves numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special heartfelt thank you to their church family of Smyrna Baptist Church for their outpouring of love, kindness, prayers and generosity, and to Crater Community Hospice for their caring support during these final days. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 29th at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A celebration of life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Smyrna Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia, VA.
