Marie England

Marie Lucy Hammonds England, 80, of Hopewell passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Hammonds and Lucy Crumpler Lewis. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Hopewell where she taught the Allen Redd Sunday School Class, led Childrenâ??s Church, and was a member of the Church Prayer Team. She loved teaching children, growing flowers, and traveling. She leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, James Harold England of Hopewell; four children, Jeannie E. Lubman, David A. England (Beverly) both of Prince George, Cathie H. Ingram (Mark) of Hopewell, and Stephen D. England of Cary, N.C.; two grandchildren, Catherine H. Roeder (Lee), and Patricia H. Hass (Kenny) all of Hopewell; one great-granddaughter, Jaelynn Roeder; a brother, James E. Manley (Virginia) of Prince George; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Geoff Fuller, officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Chester, VA.
