Marie Alecia Royer, 57, of Hopewell passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011 in John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Royer was born in Syracuse, NY and had been a long time resident of the tri-city area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur A. and Janice White Hanlon, and a brother, Gerard Hanlon. Mrs. Royer was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Burrowsville Fire Department and was an executive assistant for Verizon. She loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Royer is survived by her husband, Barry Royer, a daughter, Alecia Royer, a son William Royer, two brothers, Arthur A. Hanlon, Jr. and Joseph F. Hanlon, four sisters, Lyn C. Ruckdeschel and her husband Rick, Patty A. Warthan and her husband Reid, Theresa J. Keefe and her husband John, Katie E. Hubbell and her husband Richard, Sisters-in-law Kim Hanlon, Janice Collins and her husband Ken, Numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Monday, January 31, 2011 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Macon Walton, retired Rector of Brandon Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA.
