Marie Gatewood Coleman Vaughan

Addie Marie Gatewood Coleman Vaughan, 85, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2023. Marie was born on May 28, 1938, in Henrico County, Virginia, and is the daughter of Maude Emily Brown and Albert Gordon Gatewood. She is survived by her husband, Bernard Lee "Bobby" Vaughan, of Chester, Virginia; and her children, Robert Coleman (Feda), of Chester, Rhonda Phillips (Raymond), of Prince George, Blaine Coleman (Steve), of Hopewell, and Lori Bowes (Clint), of Richmond; six grandchildren, Tom Coleman (Elizabeth), of Richmond, Frederick Phillips (Crystal), of Fleming Island, FL, Jason Coleman (Jen), of Norfolk, Ellen Coleman (Larry) Elliston, Adam Bowes, of Salt Lake City, UT, and Claire Bowes, of Richmond; seven great-grandchildren, TJ Coleman (Sarah), Danny Coleman, Mason Coleman, Reese Phillips, Riley Phillips, Annabelle Coleman, and Dominic Coleman; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alice and Evie Coleman.

Beloved mother, Nana, great-grandmother, second great-grandmother, Marie, "Addie" to her parents and cousins, grew up attending New Bridge Baptist Church, in Highland Springs and went to Highland Springs High School. She will be remembered as loving, caring, giving, and talented. She loved dancing, NASCAR, and the occasional rum and Diet Coke, and was the rock that held her family together. She raised her children in Prince George County, VA, and used her talents in sewing, quilting, crocheting, and crafting for enjoyment of all. Her memory will live in our hearts forever. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, Virginia.
