Marion Davis

Marion was born in Disputanta, Virginia, and was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Margaret Emory, Sr.; several brothers and sisters; her husband, Royal Davis, Sr.; one son, Ronald (Shug) Davis; daughter-in-law, Nancy; and twin grandchildren, Erin Leigh and Lindsey Nicole Davis.

She married Royal L. Davis, Sr. on October 31, 1959, and made their home in Petersburg and South Chesterfield, Virginia.

Marion is survived by her children, Royal Davis, Jr. (Cricket) and Mary, Rodney Davis, Sr. and Dawn, Rhonda Davis (Susie), and Elaina Williams and Ken. Marion and Roy raised their grandson, Joey Davis (Haley). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy, Amanda, RJ, Rena, Rebecca, Gregory, and Karl; and great-grandchildren, River Belle Davis, Christian Brandtly Hewett, Xander Williams, and Daniel, Gael, and Geneva Lothamer. She is survived by two brothers, Milton and John Emory; and two sisters, Margaret Hayes and Rosa Mae Saulnier; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marion cherished her many friendships through church and work relationships. Marion worked for 25 years with Brown and Williamson, until they closed. She retired from Hardee's, in Dinwiddie, after many years of service. Marion loved country, bluegrass, and gospel music. She was active in her faith and was always ready to show up and help with family, friends, and never met a stranger. She loved the many dogs, cats, and other critters that found their way to her home.

A graveside service will be held at Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA, on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM. A gathering of family and friends will meet to share memories and celebrate her life, at Chesterfield Community Church, located at 7110 Woodpecker Road, Chesterfield, VA, at 12:30 PM.
