Marion Thomas â??Tomâ? Hamm, age 73, of Richmond, VA., passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010. He was born in Warren County, North Carolina, the son of the late Marion W. and Lucy Thompson Hamm. He was employed by Miller Manufacturing for over 25 years and was the owner of Hamm Sharpening since 1986. Mr. Hamm was also a member of Southside Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret â??Margeâ? Hamm; children, Brenda Whitten, and husband, Mark, Debbie Ferrell and husband, Jeff, Wesley Hamm and wife, Karen, and Robert Hamm and wife, Kim; 11 grandchildren, Christy, Mary, Thomas, James, Margaret, Heather, Samantha, Wesley, Michael, Helen, and Robert A.; 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Nicholas, Seth, and Briley; 4 sisters, Sarah Edwards, Faye Thompson, Linda Salmon, and husband Thomas, and Brenda Caulder, and husband Bryant. The family will receive friends at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 6 to 8p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church.
