Marjorie Davis Ladd

Marjorie Davis Ladd, 89, of Dinwiddie, VA, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Ladd; and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Agnes "Aggie" L. Williamson (Wayne); son, Carl L. Ladd, Sr. (Sheila); four grandchildren, Wayne R. Williamson, Jr. (Tanya), Carl L. Ladd, Jr. (Karen), Chris E. Williamson (Tiffaney), and Rachel L. Dotts (Jack); primary caregiver, Rachel L. Dotts (Jack); ten great-grandchildren; Caleb Williamson (Sariah), Mallory MacDonald (Simeon), Dillon Ladd, Micah Williamson (Shannon), Cassidy Sepe (Mitchell), Emily Williamson, Oscar Pride, Jr., Jaylin Pride, Davis Ladd, and James Pride; six great-great-grandchildren, Adaline, Seth, Avery, Alaina, Delaney, and Oakley. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy "Lou" Beale (Guy) and Hazel Reese Hudson; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Mrs. Ladd was the primary caregiver for her husband for over 20 years prior to his passing, as well for her brother and father before their passing. She previously worked at Titmus Optical, Woolworth's, Country Kitchen, and the Produce Center.

Mrs. Ladd was a Christian and loved the Lord; she was a longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank her caregivers as well as Crater Hospice for the compassionate care given to her.

The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, North Dinwiddie, VA 23803. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, with the service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, South Prince George, VA 23805.
