Rowe, Marjorie Webb, age 84, died on July 27, 2009 at Farnham Manor, Farnham, VA. She was born on April 3, 1925 in Stony Creek, VA. Mrs. Rowe was the daughter of William J. and Imogene Bishop Webb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman B. Rowe. Mrs. Rowe was a graduate of Westhampton College and continued her academic studies at Columbia University, NY and VCU. She began her teaching career in Chesterfield County Schools and also taught in South Norfolk and Henrico County schools. Mrs. Rowe left the teaching profession and worked for the Richmond Times Dispatch from May 31, 1959 to May 24, 1974 as a reporter and then became the Womenâ??s Editor. She is survived by her brothers, William J. Webb, Jr. of Richmond, Jon Kerr Webb and wife Doris of Bowlers Wharf, VA.; two nieces, Beverly W. Beamon and husband Jackie, Rebecca Carol Reeves and husband Bob; two great-nieces, Courtney Beamon and husband Spencer and Casey Beamon and husband Charles; and one great great nephew, Hunter. The family will receive friends from 4 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday July 29, 2009 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday July 30, 2009 at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Farnham Manor for all of their devoted care over the years.
