Marjorie Lewis Spencer, 78, of Chester, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012. She was the widow of L.E. â??Jackâ? Spencer. She was raised in Blackstone, but moved to Richmond in 1955. She is survived by her son, Charles Spencer and his wife Michelle, and their three adorable children, Hannah, Jack and Ryan. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Donna Taylor and her husband Jeff and their three children, David, Cory and Joshua. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Eva Dowling Jenkins Lewis; five brothers, Edward, J.D., William, Garland, and Charlie; and also her sister, Bessie Johnson. Marjorie retired from American Tobacco as an Administrative Assistant. She loved the church and was very active in Beulah United Methodist, singing in the choir and working with the United Methodist Women. She was also an active member of the Villages Womenâ??s Club. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Beulah United Methodist Church, with a time of food and fellowship to be held following the service. A committal service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beulah United Methodist Church, 6925 Hopkins Road, Richmond, VA 23234, in her memory.
