Marjorie Walker

Marjorie Ann Humphries Walker, age 65, of Sutherland, VA, passed away on Saturday December 11, 2010. She was born in Stovall, NC, the daughter of the late Willie D. Humphries, Sr. Her death was also preceded by that of a son, Emmett R. Walker, Jr. Mrs. Walker was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, VA. She was an employee of Wal Mart distribution center, Dinwiddie, working with general manager, Mark Swinton and friends. Mrs. Walker also was a past Customer Service Manager and 20 year employee of the Wal Mart Store in Colonial Heights, VA. She was a strong believer in Christian Fellowship, and was the gospel leader for the group, Praising and Doing His Will. Mrs. Walker had amazing strength, and was the rock of her family. She was a mother to so many. Mrs. Walker is survived by her loving husband, Rev. Emmett R. Walker, Sr.; mother, Mary Virginia Humphries; children, Norma â??Jeanneâ? DeVane and her husband, Billy, Christine â??Chrissyâ? Walker, and David Wayne Walker; daughter-in-law, Deborah Walker; four grandchildren, Blake DeVane, Kyle Walker, Crystal Stevenson, and Ashley Garner; one great grandchild, Kyle David Stevenson; brother, David Humphries, Jr. and wife, Margaret; an aunt, Ruth Inscoe; special niece, Jennifer Humphries; adopted daughter, Cynthia Pierce; adopted son, Steve Pierce; adopted grandchildren, Tyler and Emily Pierce; close friends, Theresa, Sharon, and Ruby; and her two babies Chico and Hooch Walker. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, VA. Interment will follow in the Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
