Mark Anthony Thomas

THOMAS, Mark Anthony, 55, of Chester, formerly of Varina, went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Jeter Thomas; and father, Vernon D. Thomas. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 11 years, Tracy Mitchell Thomas. He is also survived by his brothers, Timothy D. Thomas (Tammy), David V. Thomas (Nicki), Michael Thomas; and sister, Hazel T. Murphy (Rickey); nieces and nephews, Hannah, Caleb, Luke, Nathan,
Miranda, Brianna, and Cierra.
Holding a forever special place in his heart is the second love of his life, Buster, his rescue dog. They both seemed to rescue each other and were rarely apart.
Those left to cherish his memory also include his family by marriage, Ronda Collins, Darlene Cutts, Leo Mitchell (Deanna), Cory Chase (Bob), Marlo Ferguson (Kenny), and Clay Cutts (Bonnie); nieces and nephews, Alex, Brooke, Sarah, Jacob, Baylor and Madison.
Mark was a loyal Christian servant with a deep and unwavering faith. He was often called upon to say a prayer at family gatherings. His spoken words were peaceful and a blessing to hear.
Loved by so many, his passions in life were his family, his church, and his amazing group of friends. Mark counted his friends as extended family and cherished their support. Friends are a treasured gift and Mark had many.
Mark worked as a machinist in the Richmond area for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling with Tracy, cruising in his black convertible Mustang and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 22, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester Chapel, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831, where a funeral ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
