Mark Wayne Wood

Mark Wayne Wood, 63 of Chesterfield, VA., passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019. Born and raised in Richmond, VA., he was the son of the late Thomas B. Wood. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Susan M. Wood. Mark was a 1975 graduate of Frederick Military Academy, where he rose to the rank of Cadet Captain and was the Commander of the “C” Company. He studied art at VCU and graduated from RSHT in 2012. Mark was Richmond’s premier picture framer for the Art Market and later becoming president of the Company. Mark was an art, history and music enthusiast, avid guitar player, a lifelong Redskins fan and enjoyed collecting airplanes and military memorabilia. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Mark was a friend to all and enjoyed sharing story's and telling jokes. He is survived by his mother, Martha P. Wood; brother, Barry Wood; children, Jeff MacMinn and wife, Melissa, Beth Shumaker and husband, Brian, and Thomas Wood; grandchildren, Emma, Chloe, Evan and Landen. The family will receive friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831.
