Marlene Brooks

Marlene Jeanette Brooks, 79, of Richmond, passed away on July 6, 2012 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Paul Gilbert and Emily Martin Detrick, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Brooks; and a son, Steve Moon. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her daughter, Sharon Moon, seven grandchildren, Christie, Jennifer, Hunter, Tiffany, Dakota, Corey, and Autumn, eight great-grandchildren, Shaina, Darion, Elijah, Daija, Jaden, Gabriel, Nevaeh, and Madyson; and a dear and loving friend, Joan Ball. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Westhampton Memorial Park, with the Rev. Dr. Ivan Perkinson, officiating.
