Martha Whitmore

Martha Blankenship Whitmore, 90, of Petersburg died Saturday, September 16, 2006.
She was a native of Ettrick and daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Virginia Gardwell Blankenship. She was preceded in death by her husband James Sterling Whitmore and son-in-law John Allen Myers, Sr. She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Whitmore Myers of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, John A. Myers, Jr. and wife Lindy of West Virginia and Bruce G. Myers, Sr. and wife, Andrea of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter, Mary M. Lovett and husband, James of Virginia Beach; six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; a loving brother, Russ Blankenship and wife, Margaret of Richmond and a loving sister, Gloria Blankenship Cutshall of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
