Mary Anna Crocker Overton

Mary Anna Crocker Overton, 95, of Chesterfield, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Laura May Crocker; sister Ethel Walden; and nieces, Joyce O’Neill Swain and Vivian Walden. She was longtime owner/operator of Harrowgate Grocery and Apartments. She also served many years of civil service for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She is survived by her beloved dogs, Ralph, Woddy and Kita; niece, Helen Walden; great-nieces, Laurie O’Neill, Stephanie Bowen, Shelley Logan, Sharon Rosengreen, Avery Coffman, and Layne Coffman; great-nephews, Lin O’Neill (Debbie), Steven Dean, and Shawn Dean; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
