Mary Caroline Beierschmitt passed away from heart complications on June 10, 2006. Caroline was a programmer for Chesterfield County for 25 years. She shared 40 years of her life with her high-school sweetheart, the late Dennis Beierschmitt. Together, they shared a passion for nature and cycling. Caroline was an accomplished artist, skilled in a variety of mediums from watercolors to folk art and sculpture. She became a peace activist in the 60's and continued her involvement in political, environmental, and peace groups at the Unitarian Church. Even in challenging times, Caroline remained an inspiration, providing encouragement and counseling to those who were close to her. She is greatly missed by her son and daughter, Ridley and Stefanie Beierschmitt, her mother, Virginia Armstrong, her two brothers and sister, and a community of family and friends. In celebration of her life, a memorial will be held at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1000 Blanton Avenue in Richmond, on Tuesday, June 13 at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to the World Bicycle Relief Organization or the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond. Condolences may be registered at
