Mary Ruth Bishop

Mary Ruth Bishop, 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Born in Greensboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Mike Georgel and Beatrice Blick Livingston. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward "Ronnie" Bishop; and grandson, Marty Bishop. Mary retired from Brown and Williamson after many years of service. She loved to travel, listen to music and dance. She is survived by four grandchildren, Sherri Lefler, Edward “Bubba” R. Bishop, Jr., and his wife, Kim, Jeania M. Bishop, and Misty Bishop; two great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Matthew; sister, Hazel Miles; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Blandford Cemetery on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jim Smith officiating. The family would like to give thanks to Hopewell Health Care Center and a special thanks to Brighter Living Assisted Living Facility. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Rd., Suite 130, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
