Mary Frances Howerton Brockwell, 86, of Petersburg, Virginia, passed away April 4, 2008, after a period of declining health. She was the widow of James T. Brockwell, Sr. She lived a good Christian life as a devoted wife, Mother, and friend to many. â??Francesâ? was born in Petersburg, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late James Lee and Barbara Herr Howerton. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church in Chester, VA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Robert Moore, Brothers, Everett B. Howerton, Irvin Lee Howerton, Leonard Howerton, Thomas E. Howerton, and Sisters, Mildred H. James and Elizabeth H. Decker, and a Stepson, James T. Brockwell, Jr. Frances is survived by a son, Robert L. Moore and wife, Evelyn, of Prince George; Stepson, Benjamin Brockwell and wife, Jennie, of Matoaca; Grandsons, Robert L. Moore, Jr. and wife, Arlene, and Howard B. Moore of Dinwiddie; Step Grandsons, Bruce Brockwell and wife, Tammy, and Barry Brockwell and wife, Melissa, of Chesterfield. She is also survived by a devoted daughter-in-law, Nancy E. Brockwell of Chester; a great-grandson, Austin; step great-grandsons, Will, Jack, and Drew; step great granddaughter, Carrie; sister-in-law, Helen A. Howerton; a special caregiver and friend, Lori Jessup Smith, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9th at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg. The Reverend Doug Echols, pastor of Enon Baptist Church will officiate.
