Mary Wray Cole

Mary Wray Cole, 84, of Chester, VA, passed June 17, 2024. Born and raised in Powhatan, VA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Harold Wray and Virginia Hatcher Wray. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her greatest accomplishments were caring for everyone and her delicious baking. She would even leave muffins or cookies out for the trashmen. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, LaVerne Cole; daughter, Rene' Cole and her wife, Kathy Zeeman, of Cedar City, UT; son, Keith Cole, of Chester; son, Michael Cole and his wife, Dana, of Chester; grandchildren, Michael Baleserak, Erin Shannon, Cody Cole, Lane Cole, Brody Cole, Kipp Cole; and great-grandchildren, Bode and Rory Cole, Noah Shannon, and Virginia Cole; and by her siblings, Shelby Totty, of Baltimore, MD, Ruth Blankenship, of Staunton, and Joe Wray, of Caroline County. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and family following the service.
