Mary Brunson Cook

Mary Brunson Cook, 97, of Petersburg, VA died Monday, May 1, 2017. She was born in Greeleyville, SC and was the daughter of the late William H. and Carrie Heins Brunson; and the widow of Retired Col. Charles Wayne Cook, Sr. She is also preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne Cook, Jr., a grandson, Derrick Cook; and a great-grandson, Scott Doane. She was an avid golfer and loved spending time in her garden. Mrs. Cook is survived by two daughters, Stella Fullerton and her husband, Doug and Mary “Betty” Poythress and her husband, Bob; a son, Bill Cook; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, AnnDora Cook; special friend, Nikki; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA.
