Mary Cooper Sharp

Mary Katherine Sharp, 55, a resident of Disputanta, was called home by the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2009 after a 12-year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, George T. Sharp JR; a son, Raymond T. Sharp; a daughter, Dusty Bain and her husband, Kyle, all of Disputanta; three grandchildren, Kayla, Jared and Jasmine Sharp; two brothers, James Cooper of Virginia Beach and Lee Cooper of Norfolk.
Kathy was a faithful and active member of Grace Baptist Church in Disputanta. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. Her sparkling personality and sense of humor will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
A Joyful Celebration of Kathyâ??s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son, Wakefield by the Rev. Ted Upton JR. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Petersburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from7:00 â?? 9:00 PM.
